History of Vancouver - Komagata Maru

This website, part of a website documenting the history of Vancouver, discusses the incident involving a ship called the Komagata Maru that tried to carry Indian immigrants (the majority of them Sikh) to British Columbia. The website gives background information involving the Canadian government and the anti-Oriental (anti-immigration) feelings that existed amongst the Canadian population at the time. The website describes what happened to these people after the ship was forced to leave the harbour and return to India. The website is written from an objective point of view.
