BBC - Religion & Ethics - Caste System
This website gives a brief description of the caste system in India. It introduces the four traditional varnas: the Brahmins, the Kshatriyas, the Vaishyas, the Shudras, and the group of outsiders, the Untouchables. The website also gives a concise introduction of the jatis without going into details about each jati as there are a great number of them. There is also mention of the history of the caste system and the two strains of thought from which it grew, as well as the caste system in present day. This website is written in an objective manner.
