About SPARKS
The SPARKS Literary Festival was established in 2010 to celebrate the literary creations of Newfoundland and Labrador. An initiative by poet and professor Mary Dalton, now festival director, with the support of the Faculty of Arts, SPARKS showcases writers at various stages of their creative lives. From award-winning creative writing students to authors of international stature, SPARKS is what Dalton calls a "word spree" and also features displays from local literary journals and letterpress publishers.
